The best robot vacuum for hardwood floors

Hardwood is the easiest floor a robot vacuum will meet, so nearly any pick here can keep it swept. We'd choose by the other things. Get the roborock Qrevo S Pro if you want the floor mopped too, the roborock Q10 S5+ if you mostly want it swept and emptied for you, and the eufy 11S MAX if you want no app at all.
Why suction matters least here
Dust and crumbs sit on top of a hard floor. There is no pile to pull them out of. That is why a 2,000 Pa claim and an 18,500 Pa claim can both leave a wood floor looking swept. We explain why Pa numbers do not compare across brands in suction vs navigation.
What does matter on hardwood
- The mop type. A damp pad wipes dust and light footprints. Spinning mops that the dock washes are less work. Both are described in our mop guide.
- Rugs on the wood. A mopping robot has to lift its mop on rugs. The Q10 S5+ lifts up to 8 mm and the Qrevo S Pro lifts 10 mm, according to the listings.
- Straight rows. On an open wood floor you can see where a robot has been. Lidar robots clean in rows. A robot with no map wanders, and covers the floor by chance over a long run.
- How often you empty it. Hard floors are the easy case. In a 1,000 sq ft home with hard floors and no pets, our estimate is about 15 runs for a 0.6 liter bin and about 68 days for a 2.7 liter dock bag.
The picks
- roborock Qrevo S Pro. Owners say it cleans well, above all on hardwood, and the dock washes and dries the mops. The caveat: a dock over 20 inches tall, and owners are split on overall satisfaction.
- roborock Q10 S5+. Lidar rows, a self-empty bag and a vibrating mop pad. The caveat: you refill the water tank by hand, and the pad wipes and does not scrub.
- eufy 11S MAX. The maker claims up to 100 minutes on hardwood and the listing is for hard floors first. The caveat: no map, so no rooms and no keep-out zones.
A caution about water and wood
Some wood floor finishes do not like standing water. We cannot tell you what yours will take. Check your floor maker's care advice before you let any robot mop it, start on the lowest water setting, and leave the mop pad off if you are unsure. Every mopping pick here can run as a vacuum only.
